Researchers say first-time moms average a 24 percent shorter labor when under chiropractic care. Your labor is likely to progress even more rapidly if you have already given birth and receive chiropractic care.
Currently, the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association recommends that women receive chiropractic care throughout pregnancy to establish pelvic balance and optimize the room a baby has for development throughout pregnancy. With a balanced pelvis, babies have a greater chance of moving into the correct position for birth- so, the crisis and worry associated with breech and posterior presentations may be avoided altogether. Optimal baby positioning at the time of birth also eliminates the potential for difficult labor and therefore results in easier, safer deliveries for both the mother and baby.
If you are pregnant, one of the best things you can do for yourself and your baby is to see a doctor of chiropractic. Chiropractic care gives a pregnant body what it needs: a flexible and balanced spine, hips, pelvis and body structure- all essential for a healthy pregnancy and delivery.
